Artists and Educators:

Walter Bartman
My high school art teacher in the seventies and eighties. Presidents honored him for his outstanding teaching. His web site will tell you all! He was THE teacher for me....ultimately impacting my desire to become an artist in the first place.

Scott Brodie
Painter, professor, master teacher who I took classes from at Skidmore College and then sought to work with during my graduate school years as a guest student at College of Saint Rose. He is THE person who suggested I try working with charcoal. Working with him was a defining moment in my art education.

Dirk Dzimirsky
Artist, illustrator, teacher, and friend. His portraits will truly awe you.

Pearl Fryar
Visionary artist, motivational teacher, creator of the largest topiary garden made in America by one person. The man featured in the Sundance film "A Man Named Pearl". Pearl graciously accepted my invitation to work with my students when I taught art education in the public schools of North Carolina. He is also my friend and a mentor.

Robert Grimes
An outstanding original thinker, incredibly passionate painter, printer, and sculptor, teacher, and friend from my family of artists at The Art Spirit Gallery. He is the person I call when I get stuck and need to work out some ideas.

Doretta Miller
Artist and my professor of Art Education at Skidmore College who's teaching both inspired and prepared me for teaching art with passion and purpose.

Paul Motwani
Scotland's first Grandmaster of Chess, writer, master teacher, my friend.
